An inconvenient truth?

Today I had occasion to visit the website of the obesity society, and was amused to be greeted by this message:

"Because we're expanding our programs and our staff, The Obesity Society has outgrown its old offices."

Words fail me.

Is this why there's that stereotype about fat people being funny (or "jolly")? I hope no one attacks me for saying so, but that's funny and I am laughing WITH whomever wrote it!

No life on Mars The Great Beyond: Mars is going down! Some breaking news from The Great Beyond blog post linked above: "NASA experts say the risk of an asteroid smashing into Mars is higher than they previously thought. Last week the agency said the probability of asteroid 2007 WD5 hitting the red planet was 1.3%. After further number crunching it now says it is more like 3.9% (press release). Although this is an unusually high percentage, it is still most likely that WD5 will miss the planet."
