Via Joe Wikert's blog, here is an article on how to "invent" your book, by Tamara Monosoff, who writes for a website called Entrepreneur.com. The author has written and published two books herself (the second of which has the title "Secrets of Millionaire Moms"), and in her article she compares the self-publish with the external publisher options for authors. I can't say I was as impressed with the article as Joe Wikert, whose post about it has the title "Great summary of publishing and authoring". (But he is a vice president of Wiley, so he should know.) I thought that much of it is self-evident, and says nothing about the challenges of marketing your book (extremely difficult, as pointed out in a comment here the other day by James Aach). And even I could write an article stating "get a literary agent" and "here's a good guidance website for self-publishing".
Despite the disappointing article, I did have a chuckle at the Amazon entry for Tamara's book (love the trademarks), so why not read this instead?
